I’m excited to announce the launch of the Matt Withers Australian Music Composition Competition 2016!

On board, I have the support of esteemed Australian composer Dr Robert Davidson (adjudicator) and brilliant Visual Artist Sue Needham.

This is an Open Competition where Australian residents are invited to enter an original piece of music for solo guitar of 4-6 minutes in length, based on the inspiration art work ‘Forest’, by Sue Needham.

With thanks to a number of generous sponsors, there is over $3,000 worth of cash and prizes on offer for the winning compositions!

First place – $1,000 cash (Sponsored by Matt Withers) plus a framed copy of ‘Forest’ by Sue Needham (Sponsored by Hang Ups The Artworks value $700)

Second place – $500 cash sponsored by the Canberra Classical Guitar Society

Third place – $250 cash sponsored by Rick Falkiner’s Guitar Centre

Under 25 years ‘Emerging Composer’ – $250 cash sponsored by Matt Withers – Australian Guitarist
