Program Note

Basket Weaving is a short piano solo, loosely based around the idea of intervals being turned in upon themselves. We notice this in Bebop lines, and also, in other musical cultures, using extreme chromaticism, leaning towards melismatic and microtonal styles. The harmonic materials are derived from the interval structures of the weaving melodic lines.
