This call includes works for chamber ensemble, orchestra, and live orchestral recordings.
The chamber ensemble, Ergon Ensemble, will perform selected works live in concert as well as in a studio recording session. The group is an Athens-based contemporary music ensemble created in 2008 for performing works by living composers as well as masterpieces of 20th and 21st-century avant-garde music.
The Royal Scottish National Orchestra has played an integral part in Scotland’s musical life, including performing at the opening ceremony of the Scottish Parliament building in 2004. Many renowned conductors have contributed to its success, including George Szell, Sir John Barbirolli, Walter Susskind, Sir Alexander Gibson, Neeme Järvi, Walter Weller, Alexander Lazarev, and Stéphane Denève.
With the Call for Live Recordings, PARMA is proud to bring these harnessed moments of the musical past into the present, with all the elements that make them unique as living, breathing performances.
Recordings will be planned for late 2019-early 2020 with album releases targeted for mid-to-late 2020. The results of one of our previous Call for Scores can be found on our string quartet album, QUADRANTS Vol.2, released September 2018: http://www.navonarecords.com/catalog/nv6184/
